| Foundations in Christianity are Important
Luke 6:46-49.
Obeying God
is like building a house on a strong and solid rock that stands firm when
storms come. When life is calm, our foundations don’t seem to matter.
But when crises comes are foundations are tested. Our Christianity is
tried as to obedience. Be sure your
life is built on Jesus Christ. True Bible Foundations in Christianity
are in Christ.
Peter tells us that the trial of our faith is much more precious than gold that perishes though it be tried with fire (1 Pet1:7). Its the testing of our faith that's more precious than gold that perishes, genuine faith in Jesus will last forever to His glory who strengthens us. It's doing the will of God that makes it through eternity out lasting any treasure of this life. True Christianity is work and discipline. Why would people build a house on sand? Perhaps to save time and avoid hard work. Possibly because the waterfront scenery is more attractive or because beach houses have higher social status than cliff houses. Perhaps because they want to join their friends who have already settled in sandy areas. True Christianity is built upon Christ. A building is only as solid as the ground its built on. Christ is our base, our reason for being. Everything we are and do must fit into the pattern provided by him. Are you building your life on faulty ground such as wealth, security, success, or fame? Jesus is our foundation. We have a strong ground to stand on. A savior who defeated Satan, death, hell and the grave. He who lives forever as the captain of our salvation. Without Jesus coming in the fullness of time there would be no hope, no giving of the Spirit, no rest for the weary soul, and no forgiveness of sins. Jesus is the chief corner stone by whom the whole building is fitly framed together (Eph 2:19-21). (Col 2:8- 10) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: (1Co 1:30) But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: Yours in Christ Rev David Collins
