I live in Fort Worth Texas. I'm a minister with the Assemblies of God. I moved to Fort Worth Tex. in 1984 from Houston Texas. Gave my life to the Lord in 1986, and started ministry in 1988. I've seen allot of things since then, and with the help and grace of God I've made it through allot of trials. God is good ,and in these perilous times we can still live for Him. Two years after I was saved I almost went over seas to witness on the streets, and compel people to come into tent meetings. At the time I was studying the Assemblies of God doctrine, and going through home correspondence Bible courses mainly to learn the Bible for myself. Although through finishing the required courses a person could go up before the board to gain license with the Assemblies to preach. I found the Assemblies to be the closest there is to the Bible in there doctrine. In seeking Gods will I hadn't realized his plan for my life yet. I knew about a ministry that would give me a room, board, and meals to go over seas and be a worker and compelling people to come in, and also I would be setting up tents ext. So I was about ready to fill out the paper, and send it to them. That night God gave me a dream. I was walking through a forest with very tall trees, and there was a path in front of me to follow. As I followed, the presence of God began to get stronger and stronger, and birds began to flock to the top of the trees and the sound of the birds began to get louder and louder the farther I walked. More and more birds were gathering at the tops of the trees. I woke up amazed and of coarse and began to pray. I want go into the interpretation accept to say that I knew in my heart what direction the Lord wanted me to go. There was two paths set before me, but only one was Gods will. I've been ministering since 1988 preaching and teaching his word affiliated with the Assemblies of God. I went before the board, and the Lord's presence and grace has been with me through the years. God put this web-site on my heart, and I believe with conviction he will use it to his glory to strengthen, encourage, and convict hearts to the obedience, and salvation that is in Christ His Son. Though I did find the Assemblies of God 's doctrine correct I am not saying that I condone every Assemblies of God Church. (1Co 14:10) There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. Paul wrote these words to the Corinthians who were misusing the spiritual gifts, but he added a phrase at the end that's very true and significant to all of us. There are many voices going out into the world, and none of them are without significance. Words are powerful, and doctrine is important. We must have a good foundation in Gods word, and that's the very reason I started this web-site. I believe sinners come to God by the power of God through the Spirit and the Word of God. Conviction of sin must be by the Spirit before true conversion takes place. The Spirit now convicts or convinces us of sin, righteousness and judgment to come. This convincing continues on in the Christians life even to those who come to Him out of realizing a void in there life which was like me, because God teaches His children. Fun is okay and good but righteousness, peace and joy is better. One is always dependant upon someone, something or somewhere, but not the righteousness, peace and joy that comes by the Holy Ghost and being right with God. Rom 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. James tells us we must receive the engrafted Word in the spirit of meekness. Though it is unpleasant at times, because the Word is a two edged sword that blesses and blisters. Conviction is our friend it tells us what to do and how to pray, and of utmost importance conforms us to the image of Christ. To the character and purity of Christ though we are still to be the individuals he has created us to be, not clones of one another. It's not easy to be different are you up to the challenge. Yours in the Lord Rev David Collins dc1986@sbcglobal.net
