Christianity and How to be Saved
|
Christianity is a relationship with God, not by rules
and laws, but through God's Son and faith. It's not man seeking God its God seeking
Man.
Rom 3:11There
is no one who
understands, there is no one who seeks God. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

We must see our need for a savior and see our condemnation before
God. All have fallen short of the glory of God
Without Jesus we are under the judgment and wrath of God. (John 3:36) he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
“Everlasting life” does not simply mean eternity in heaven. The believer possesses that life right now! It is the life of God in the believer. The opposite of eternal life is eternal death, the wrath of God. A person does not have to die and go to hell under the wrath of God. “He that believeth not is condemned already” (John 3:18). The verdict has already been given, but the sentence has not yet been executed. Why? Because God is patient and long-suffering, and continues to call sinners to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly, but the Devil came to steal, kill and destroy. The Bible is very clear that sin is a hard taskmaster, and the unsaved person is without hope and without God. We need to understand that there really is a hell to shun and a heaven to gain, and that purpose meaning and eternal life is only found in Jesus. Our need as sinners is to repent from our sin and turn to God through Christ in faith and obedience.
There must be true repentance! We must correctly distinguish regret, remorse, and true repentance. Regret is an activity of the mind; whenever we remember what we’ve done, we ask ourselves, “Why did I do that?” Remorse includes both the heart and the mind, and we feel disgust and pain, but we don’t change our ways. True repentance includes the mind, the heart, and the will. We change our mind about our sins and agree with what God says about them; we abhor ourselves because of what we have done; and we deliberately turn from our sin and turn to the Lord for His mercy.
Jesus said I am the way the truth and the life.
Heaven is a real place, a loving place, and an exclusive place. Not everybody is going to heaven, but rather only those who have trusted Jesus Christ (see Acts 4:12; 1 Tim. 2:4-6).
Jesus does not simply teach the way or point the way; He is the way. In fact, “the Way” was one of the early names for the Christian faith (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22).
t He
is the WAY: John
1:18; 8:36; 10:9; Colossians
1:15.
Jesus is
both God and man, knowing intimately our experience and our needs. He is our
path, bridge, transport—not just an example or road sign. He is our guide with
dependable directions and powerful protection. Our personal relationship with
Christ links us to God. Our response should be to follow his guidance, trusting
his ability to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves.
t He
is the TRUTH: John
1:14, 17; 5:19; 8:29.
Jesus is our
source of intimate knowledge of the Father. His answers, teaching, and commands
were right. No shadow of dishonesty, falsehood, or lying was in his life. He is
the reality of all God promised. Our response should be to believe in him and
put into practice what he taught.
t He
is the LIFE: John
1:4; 3:15; 5:26; 10:10; 11:25.
Jesus gives
us life both now and eternally. His life provides the surest model for our own.
He promises to join his life to ours. There is no other source of life beside
him. Our response should be to receive that life and allow it to work itself out
in our daily experience.
Jesus asked His disciples " who do men
say that I am". They answered some say you are one of the prophets,
others even Elijah, or Jeremiah. Then Jesus asked but who do you say that I am.
Peter came forth at this time ,and said Thou art the Christ the Son of the
living God. This is the question we must ask ourselves in truth. Is He who He
claimed to be (Matt 16:13-18,
He fulfilled about 300 prophecies in His first advent. He spoke
with authority , and called people to repentance, and righteousness. He never
once said anything of the such as I think so or maybe, well its my opinion. No
He spoke with the authority of almighty God. Claimed to have came forth from God
the Father. He claimed divine knowledge ,and fellowship. Omniscience, and power
to forgive sin. Even power to raise the dead (Matt 18:20,
To be saved we must come to grips not only with who He is, but also His claims! Our Lord’s statement, (“No man cometh unto the Father but by Me,”) wipes away any other proposed way to heaven—good works, religious ceremonies, costly gifts, etc (John 14:6). Jesus’ exclusive claim is unmistakable. It forces an unconditional response. Jesus invites people to accept or reject him, making it clear that partial acceptance is rejection. There is only one way, and that way is Jesus Christ. How can a person be saved. The answer is through Christ, and only through Him! This excludes Buddha, Ali and any other claiming to be the way to heaven or God. Also scriptures such as we must love Him more than our father, mother sister, brother, children, yes even more than our own life, or we can not be His disciples (Luke 14:26). Scripture reveals there must be a complete, and total surrender of our lives to God through Christ. Jesus said in Luke 9:23 If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
We must believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ (1 Cor 15:1-4).
That he took upon himself our sins on the Cross, then after three days rose from the grave, and ascended to the right hand of God. We must be willing to repent from sin, and believe in Christ as the only way to God. Repentance, and faith are the requirements given in the Bible.
The scripture says whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Rom 10:13). We must call upon him in prayer.
Prayer of Salvation
Jesus I repent from my sins, and ask you to come into my life, and heart. I believe that you are the only way to God. Help me to live for you, love you, and serve you. I give my life to you to use as you see fit. I will confess you as Lord, and Savior, and I believe your promise that my sins are forgiven. Thank you Lord! Now I ask you to lead me, guide me in your will.
Congratulations if you just prayed this prayer and meant it from your heart your sins are forgiven, and you've been accepted into the family of God. You need to find a good Bible believing Church. I recommend the Assemblies of God, because there doctrine is right. Although that does not mean every Assembly of God is good. God promises to lead and guide us by his Spirit if we look to him in prayer and study His word. There are many other good Churches. It is essential that you go to Church ,and read your Bible.
