                                                               The Bible Christianity and Prophecy

The Bible, God’s divine Book, the sacred Word of the Christian faith, differs in many ways from the sacred writings of other religions—the Vedas and Shastras of Hinduism, the Zend-Avesta of the Zoroastrian fire-worshipers of Persia, the Koran of the Mohammedans—concerning the concept of God; but there is one fundamental difference. That difference is in the fact that the sacred books of all other religions have not a word of prophecy or a prediction of future events, while the Bible is full of such predictions—some already fulfilled, others in process of fulfillment in our day, and still others to be fulfilled in the future. Frank M. Boyd

There are 66 books in the Bible written by 40 different authors over a period of 1600 years and all have the same theme Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. The NT fulfills the Old and both speak of redemption and forgiveness only in Christ.

(Isa 46:9-10) Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

This is written to the Jews to remember the former things of old. How that idols are folly and can't help anyone. That there is only one God the true living God who knows the beginning from the end. The one who can truly help in times of trouble. His council stands He speaks and it's done. Meaning its futile to make god's with you hands and bow down to them who can not help. Sin will always cost a great deal remember the former days and judgments of God who deals with rebellion.

graveyards and wasted lives are tragic results of warnings that were scorned or ignored. Why don’t we listen? When the yellow light is flashing, the red light follows. When God gives His inspired prophets strong admonitions for His people, it’s time to take notice. Wake up.

In Daniel 1:1–2, we read: “In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia and put in the treasure house of his god.”

Did the collapse of Judah and the capture of its king come as a surprise? For many years the threat of judgment hung over that country. God had warned them, and they would not listen. In fact, their attitude toward God was like that of the people in Noah’s day. They were having a wild time, right up until the moment Noah and his entourage entered the ark. It was too late to repent when they were going under for the last time. That’s the way it was in Judah when the prophets were speaking and the people had their eyes and ears closed. Live it up. Have another drink.
