                                                                    Absolute Truth

There is truth all around us - Natural, and spiritual truth. (Rom 1:16-19) tells us that God has revealed himself to everyone even the blind person. There is general revelation and special revelation. Special revelation comes through the Bible, and tells us how to have our sins forgiven. Natural revelation is in his creation and, the laws of nature.

Man + woman = a baby, as one put it its not Adam and Steve its Adam and Eve. Or if you jump off a 10 story building the law of gravity will naturally kill you. Or simply put 1+1=2. If you try balancing your check book differently you'll find out it don't work 1+1=2 is an absolute truth. In the beginning of creation God established truth, beauty, order and arrangement.

The first spiritual law given in the Bible is found in (Gen 2:16,17) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. In the N.T. we also find Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I believe it was in 2003 a Barna Research Group surveyed  on what Americans believe, and asked the question. "Is there absolute Truth?" Sixty-six percent of adults responded that they believe that "there is no such thing as absolute truth; different people can define truth in conflicting ways and still be correct." Seventy-two percent of those aged from 18 to 25 expressed this belief.

I believe Jesus is the truth the life and the way (John 14:6). Some say truth is whatever you believe it to be. Your truth is yours and mine is mine. We live in a day when people are afraid of truth. Are not willing to speak the truth and deny the truth. As the Bible says willfully suppress the truth (Rom 1:18, 2 Pet 3:3-7).

I used to work in the oil field. Once going off shore for a certain job. We were flying in a helicopter in the fog about 10 feet above the water the pilot was looking for the drilling rig. You could see only about 10 feet in front of you. As I remember that occasion I was afraid we would find it in a very sudden way. I thought of the possibility that we could all die, but nobody said anything to that effect. Why were the pilot and co-pilot so sure of themselves? They trusted in their radar and their instruments to be true. We trust in things every day plans, getting on the express way, having surgery. We trust in doctors Lawyers ext. We make decisions of faith, reasoning right and wrong, trusting, in what we believe to be true every day. Yet when it comes to the question of what is my purpose in life, is there really a heaven and hell. Will I really some day stand before a Holy God and give account for my actions. And most important can I have my sins forgiven, and be ready. Is there absolute truth concerning these issues as also other issues. The answer is yes we can have our sins forgiven. If we believe in Christ, and repent from our sins. Repentance has to do with forsaking ours sins and obeying Gods Word. There is absolute truth in the Bible. Spiritual truth that will bring life, and light into our heart, and soul. If we walk in the light we have, he will give us more light! And will establish us according to truth, righteousness, and true holiness (Eph 4:23,24). There is one you and I can trust more than anything else, and His name is Jesus!

1 Tim 3:15 The Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

The Church is the pillar and ground of the truth. If we want to know truth we must go to Church. We must find a good Bible believing Church, and be faithful. In the O.T. there were shadows and types. Partially revealed truth of the full revelation of God, and His redemption plan for you and I. But now the full revelation has been given. The truth is in Jesus the incarnation, death, and resurrection of the Son of God. The Spirit is now bearing witness of the truth. Which we must believe and act upon, or reject. My prayer is that if you do not know Him in a personal relationship, and know that your sins are forgiven you will make that decision today. - How to know !
